While your Drama teachers will be taking the lead on filming during class time, there is still some preparation needed by our Drama Kids to make sure our Zoom filming goes off without a hitch! Take a look at the tips below to make sure your Drama Kid is getting the most out of these important film classes! KNOW YOUR LINES (AND CUES!): We know, we sound like a broken record! But it's just as important to know your lines on film as it is on the stage! The better you know your lines, the faster we can film our scenes, and the less you have to shoot at home. The GREAT NEWS is that we will let you know which scenes we will be filming the following week, so you don't have to focus on the whole script each week! Hopefully that will take some pressure off of your practice sessions! FIND YOUR LIGHT: Make sure the room you are in has good lighting! If your device is easily portable, try to find a bright window and position it so you are facing the window and the light is hitting your face. If your class is filmed after the sun sets, just make sure that there is ample lighting in the room you're in. The brighter you are, the clearer you will appear on zoom. QUIET ON THE SET: Do you have a noisy sibling? A dog that loves to bark at squirrels? Try to find a quiet room in the house to film in to avoid any possible distractions! BE IN COSTUME: Be sure your Drama Kid is in their costume at the start of class. We have all of our film shoots scheduled out to the minute, and we want to keep to the schedule as much as possible. This means our Drama Kids should be fully costumed and ready to go on the hour. VIRTUAL BACKGROUNDS: Do you have virtual background capabilities on your device? If so, click on the show links below for some backgrounds you can use during our Zoom filming! If your device doesn't do virtual backgrounds, or if the backgrounds are glitching, no worries! Just think about the environment you are filming in. Check out our video below for ideas on how to create your most creative filming environment for class! REACTIONS!: Remember, a good actor is a REactor! We want you to stand out amongst the Zoom boxes! Never look bored, always be reacting, and HAVE FUN!
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES?: Don't sweat it! We're flexible! If your Drama Kid is experiencing technical difficulties during our zoom filming, we will come up with a shot-list for you to film at home. We will make it work!
