We are so excited to have your child join our cast of characters at Drama Kids! We have been hard at work creating our most empowering year of Drama Kids yet. Every week we encourage our students to stand up at let their voices be heard... and this year is no exception! That's why we're on a mission to help our students find their #VOICE! (Check out our sneak peek video to get a taste of what #VOICE is all about!) We know that as parents there is a lot going through your mind as your child braves the new school year, and we completely understand! With the increasing pressures our kids face in school and amongst their peers, please know that Drama Kids is a program that continues to develop self-expression in kids... a place where they can be themselves! It is a place where they can #imagine, experiment, learn, make mistakes, and ultimately succeed. And with more kids communicating digitally, the face-to-face conversation and public speaking skills that distinguish them in young adulthood are at the heart of what we do. We understand that preparing our Drama Kids for life is much more important than a standardized test - or even a performance at the end of the year. And that is why we are here to develop powerful creativity and communication skills inside our students. And that is why at Drama Kids... the difference is dramatic! - Deanna Stickles-Bach (AKA Drama Mama), Director At the end of each session, our Drama Kids take to the Genet stage to perform an all-original play! The performances serve to showcase our students' skill development over the course of the term. THE CLEANEST TOWN IN TEXAS!FALL UPPER PRIMARY PERFORMANCE SESSION (3rd-5th grades) Come join the townsfolk of good ol' Abilene, Texas. No swearin', no gambling, and no dancin', makes the "cleanest town in Texas" also the most BORIN' town in Texas! That is.... until the Abilene stagecoach comes rollin' in with a heap of trouBELLE rufflin' the town's feathers. Some folk bite off more than they can chew, tryin' to scam the townsfolk. But they prove only to be as sharp as mashed potatoes This Fall, Upper Primary students in grades 3rd-5th will perform the Drama Kids original play: "The Cleanest Town in Texas." Their Performances take place onstage in the Genet Elementary auditorium at 7:00pm on
THE GRASSHOPPER AND THE ANTS!SPRING LOWER PRIMARY PERFORMANCE SESSION (K-3rd grades) Our youngest Drama Kids will be expert storytellers as they bring Aesop's beloved fable to life! Will our fun-loving, "live in the moment" grasshoppers ever take the advice of our hardworking ants? Don't be left out in the cold - you'll be super BUGGED if you miss out on this much "ANT-icipated" performance! All our little 'bugs' will SHINE onstage at Genet Elementary! In the Spring, our Lower Primary students in grades K-3rd will perform their original play: "The Grasshopper and the Ants". Their Performances take place onstage in the Genet Elementary auditorium at 7:00pm on
Stay tuned for more specific details and times of your child's own Spring Performance! Notify us as soon as possible about any foreseeable conflicts with this schedule! Is the anticipation killing you? We know how you feel! Why not take a look at our 2018 Spring Performance highlight reel to hold you over! As you will see... the difference is dramatic!
