***UPDATE*** As of June 7, Masks are optional for performance weekend! JUNE 10 - 13, 2021 AT CLIFTON COMMONsThis year’s Spring Performance “Survival Guide” has some different information for parents to know, so please read through this carefully! Covid-19 Safety Protocol Update In lieu of the Governor's announcement on Monday, June 7, that the state now allows school students, employees and visitors the option to not wear masks outside, we are able to extend our Drama Kids the option to perform without their masks! They will still remain spaced out 6 feet apart while on stage, that has not changed. And, of course, if you or your child are not comfortable removing your mask at this time, we certainly respect and honor your decision. The same goes for your guests. As per small- and large-scale event rules, unvaccinated attendees and attendees who have an unknown vaccination status must be spaced 6 feet apart, and should still wear masks, except while seated and eating or drinking. Masks are optional for those that can present proof of full vaccination status.
***ACTION REQUIRED***Please click on the following link to RSVP with how many guests will be attending your child’s performance and answer the health screening questions, to attest that everyone in your party will be healthy and have not come in close contact with any suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19. Parking/ArrivalPerformances are held at stage in Clifton Commons: Clifton Common Blvd, Clifton Park, NY 12065 DIRECTIONS: https://goo.gl/maps/ZsgV16hRuJ2CCGyY8 Please do not arrive more than ONE HOUR prior to your show start time! We are not allowed to start seating in the field prior to that. Teen Acting Academy students must be dropped off 2 hours before show time (in costume), for their dress rehearsal on stage. Families are welcome to come back in an hour to set-up in the audience. Creative Dramatic families can stay and setup while their child rehearses on stage the hour prior to showtime. Upon arrival, please follow the designated signs. This will help us with traffic flow in between performances and enable our staff of volunteers to help direct you where to go! Once you get to the audience, you will see markers designating spots to set up around. This is to help keep everyone spaced properly. There is a ton of parking in the right as soon as you enter the park, next to the Senior Center building. Be sure to verify your child’s performance time with the schedule listed below. SeatingDon’t forget to RSVP with the number of guests attending. *Please note, we may have to limit the number of guests you bring if a particular performance exceeds capacity. RSVP HERE Please bring your own chairs/blankets to sit on. Creative Dramatic students are asked to sit with their families, so please bring them a seat, as well. No pop-up tents, umbrellas or other items that could block someone’s view while sitting in the audience. Things to consider bringing:
Food & DrinkFood & Drink is allowed at the show; however the park has a carry in/carry out policy. Please bring bags to put your garbage in. Don’t eat a lot before the show and be sure to go to the bathroom before your rehearsal and showtime. Parents of our Creative Dramatics students, please be available to escort your child to the bathroom, as we will not have enough staff on hand to help with bathroom runs. Restrooms and porta potties are located right next to the field (see map above). Video & PhotosWe will be taking video of all performances and a free digital copy will be sent out to all families upon completion! If you would like to purchase a DVD copy of your child’s performance, the cost is $15 and the DVD will be mailed to you within 6-8 weeks of your child’s performance. If you take pictures after the show, please make sure to not linger too long so that the next audience can get into the area and set up. The park is huge with several other areas, feel free to move to a different part of the park to take beautiful outdoor pictures to help keep things moving! CostumesPlease arrive to your scheduled dress rehearsal IN COSTUME. There is no private space to change or get ready at the park. Apply makeup at home before the show if you want to do makeup. (If you do not do makeup that is fine with us!) COSTUME SUGGESTION REMINDERS: We wanted to make costumes super easy for you this year, parents! Our “Epic Birthday” stars can wear a favorite summertime outfit – anything they might wear to a birthday party. (Just no flip-flops, as we do a lot of dancing and moving on stage!) The brighter & more colorful, the better. For our Acting Academy teens, we’ve asked them to wear jeans with a brightly colored t-shirt as their base costume. As we’ve discussed with them in class, they can choose to accentuate their character’s costume with accessories. Please email Ms. Jillian if your child has questions regarding any character-specific accessories: [email protected] Remember to dress light – it’s likely going to be hot! 2021 Drama Kids Spring Performance ScheduleThursday, June 10, 2021
