If you are new to Drama Kids, please note that our goal is to provide each student with a dynamic and fun learning environment whereby students are motivated to participate fully and achieve their personal best, at all levels of development. Our classes are fast-paced and fun! During the Fall and Winter months, we develop our students' acting and language skills unlike any other program out there, meanwhile building their confidence and self-esteem through our award winning curriculum and outstanding teaching staff. Then...just wait until you see all of these skills showcased in our end-of-year performance which will be held on stage at the EGG, May 28-31 - complete with costumes, a set and props for the enjoyment of all your family and friends. It is a magical experience that our students cherish for years to come!
Parents in the Classroom. Parents are NOT allowed to sit through the lesson. You can either wait in the waiting area outside of class, or drop-off your child and pick them up at the end of class. We do this for obvious reasons. Children who are extroverts may start performing and stop listening to their teacher, thus missing out on the potential to learn new skills. On the other hand, those students who are more introverted tend to shut down or not fully participate knowing that they are being observed. Our goal is to prepare both groups to perform. We will slowly introduce the audience component to our students. You will have the opportunity to see your child display the skills he or she has learned at our mid-year and year-end performances. In addition, parents will be invited into the classroom about once a month to see an informal presentation of a portion of the week's lesson. Want to know when our "Parent Observation Days" will be held? Go to our LOCATION page and easily sync our Google calendar to your child's class calendar! Pick-up. Parents are expected to pick up their children promptly when class is over. We will dismiss our K-5th grade students one at a time in order to share with you what your child did in class that day. For safety reasons, our teachers will not be able to dismiss children without seeing the designated pick-up person's face. Please bear in mind that our teachers must teach directly after class...so please do not be late! Parents who are more than 15 minutes late will be assessed a $20 late fee. Code of Conduct. Please take a moment to review our Code of Conduct and share our expectations with your child. Together, we can make this a safe and fun experience for everyone! Read our Code of Conduct HERE. We have a great year ahead of us! Please be sure to come up and meet your child's teacher at the end of class, as they will have more details about your child's classroom experience.
