Each week we will be choosing one of our dramatic classes to highlight for our #ClassoftheWeek! This week we have chosen the Colonie Saturday Lower Primary Class! "It's rare that you come across a class where everyone gets along and are genuinely happy to see each other week after week. This group of students are supportive of one another no matter what and always try to make each other laugh. They are enthusiastic, high energy, and openly throw themselves into whatever we are doing (even without getting all the directions)!" - Miss Lita "This group keeps improving their acting skills each class. They are all compassionate toward each other, they all check in with one another to make sure they come to class prepared and ready to go. They have been improving in their improv skills and we can't wait to see all their hard work in the film. I am proud of each of them as they get ready for spring performance and can't wait to see how they surprise us with their characters." - Miss Kathryn "I have been teaching some of these students for five years, and they continue to surprise me every week in class! It's crazy to think that I knew them back when they were in the Upper Primary class - and some of them will be moving up to the SENIOR Acting Academy next year! Time certainly does fly by when you are having FUN!" - Miss Kristyn In-Class Photo GallerySTAY TUNED FOR OUR NEWEST FILM FRIDAY VIDEO STARRING THE #CLASSOFTHEWEEK!

Each week we will be choosing one of our dramatic classes to highlight for our #ClassoftheWeek! This week we have chosen the Colonie Saturday Lower Primary Class! "I am so proud of this group! They have really come together and inspire each other. These kids take care of one another - from tissues to hugs! It has been a pleasure watching them come alive as they work on their films. These kids make me smile every Saturday, from Frozen to safari, they have tried their best to make their characters come to life. The first day of #ProjectSilverScreen was the best! They all came into the room excitedly talking and saying, "Let's get to work! This can be our desks! Time for a coffee break! Let's work on our Tablets!" I am so excited for their big screen reveal!" - Miss Kathryn "I love teaching this class so much. It's amazing to watch them open up and transform into wonderful little actors. They are always so excited for class and once they get going their energy is infectious. " - Miss Payton In-Class Photo Gallery#FilmFriday video
Project Silver Screen is officially in full swing, and our Drama Kids couldn't be more excited. And why wouldn't they be? They get to write and star in their very own short films! While it's a lot of fun, our Project Silver Screen Session teaches our students a valuable lesson. Our primary goal has always been building confidence, self-esteem and communication skills in our students. We always try to instill in them the confidence to get up and perform in front of a live audience – whether that be performing a play, giving a speech at school, or communicating socially everyday with their peers!
However, this new world we live in requires new competence in old communication skills. There’s no denying that our kids are IMMERSED in media. And we believe that today’s children must learn to use their real eyes and ears and brains if they are to truly understand the TV-EYE, the Radio-EAR, and the Computer’s MIND. Thus the genesis of “Project Silver Screen” and what our focus has been in Drama Kids since we started class back in September! In essence…bringing your child’s communication skills to the next level. But do you know what really makes it all worth it? Watching their self-esteem, confidence and knowledge blossom throughout the entire film-making process…watching as this one spark of creativity, one imaginative idea, is brought to life right before their very eyes. This is going to be an experience that they will cherish for the rest of their lives…and we can’t wait for you to see them shine in January at our big movie premiere! Each week we will be choosing one of our dramatic classes to highlight for our #ClassoftheWeek! This week we have chosen the Loudonville Upper Primary class! “Our Loudonville Upper Primary class may be young, but they are some of the most professional performers I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. (Not to mention a lot more fun!) Their ability to take direction rivals adult actors I’ve known, and their creativity constantly sparks new and ingenious ideas. They often come up with better ideas than their teachers do! They embody what I love most about our older and younger classes; it is a thrill to be able to challenge them as we do our Acting Academy students! And yet, they are still never afraid to release their inhibitions and do something wild, crazy and –of course- FUN!” - Drama Mama In-Class Photo GalleryStay Tuned for this week's #FILMFRIDAY Starring the Loudonville Upper Primary Class! |
