If you are new to Drama Kids, please note that our goal is to provide each student with a dynamic and fun learning environment whereby students are motivated to participate fully and achieve their personal best, at all levels of development. Our classes are fast-paced and fun! During the Fall session, we develop our students' acting and language skills unlike any other program out there, meanwhile building their confidence and self-esteem through our award winning curriculum and outstanding teaching staff. We even end our Fall session with a MOVIE PREMIERE on the last day of class, which friends and family are encouraged to attend! This gives our students a chance to perform in front of a live audience, and gives you a chance to see a sampling of some of the things we have been up to over the course of the term. Then for our Spring Session we will be in performance mode, rehearsing for our end-of-year performance which will be held on stage complete with costumes, a set and props for the enjoyment of all your family and friends. I am sure your child will have a blast! For a smooth first day of class, please send a note to your child's teacher telling the teacher that your child will start attending Drama Kids and needs to go to the music room at dismissal time. Your Drama Kids teachers: Jillian, Ellen, Jake and/or Deanna will be in the classroom ready to welcome your child! We recommend sending in an extra snack with your child on Drama Kids days, as it can be a long day for many of them. Pick-up. Parents are expected to pick up their children promptly at the music room when class is over at 4:45pm. Please note for security purposes, GCC is NOT allowed to open the door for our Drama Parents. One of our DKI teachers will be there to open the doors at 4:40pm, so please plan to wait in your car until that time. Thank you for your understanding and helping us to abide by school policy. Please bear in mind that our teachers must travel to teach DK classes directly after class...so please do not be late! Parents who are more than 15 minutes late will be assessed a $20 late fee. After-School. If you haven't done so already, please let us know if your child is in the after-school program. Children enrolled in the after-school program will be dismissed to the after-school coordinator after Drama Kids. We have a great year ahead of us! Please be sure to come up and meet your child's teachers at the end of class, as they will have more details about your child's classroom experience.
