Each week we will be choosing one of our dramatic classes to highlight for our #ClassoftheWeek! This week we have chosen the Loudonville Upper Primary class! “Our Loudonville Upper Primary class may be young, but they are some of the most professional performers I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. (Not to mention a lot more fun!) Their ability to take direction rivals adult actors I’ve known, and their creativity constantly sparks new and ingenious ideas. They often come up with better ideas than their teachers do! They embody what I love most about our older and younger classes; it is a thrill to be able to challenge them as we do our Acting Academy students! And yet, they are still never afraid to release their inhibitions and do something wild, crazy and –of course- FUN!” - Drama Mama In-Class Photo GalleryStay Tuned for this week's #FILMFRIDAY Starring the Loudonville Upper Primary Class!

Each week we will be choosing one of our dramatic classes to highlight for our #ClassoftheWeek! This week we have chosen our Schenectady Junior Acting Academy! “I’ll admit it – working with middle schoolers can be quite the challenge. But not with our Schenectady Jr. Acting Academy - they are a breath of fresh air! Their willingness to release their inhibitions, step out of their comfort zones and support one another is what I adore most about them. They have to be one of the sweetest, most sincere group of Drama Kids I’ve ever had the pleasure of teaching. This is the sort of middle school “drama” I wish I had growing up!” - Drama Mama "The Schenectady Jr. AA, though new to the Acting Academy, are one of our more fearless and enthusiastic AA classes I've seen! They always come to class excited about whatever we are doing. Each student has their hand raised to volunteer, without receiving all or any of the directions! I know plenty of Senior Acting Academy classes that don't even do that!" - Miss Lita In-Class Photo GalleryStay tuned for this week's #FILMFRIDAY starring the class of the week!
āāEach week we will be choosing one of our dramatic classes to highlight for our #ClassoftheWeek! This week we have chosen our Genet Elementary Upper Primary class!
"Genet! What a bunch of hams! But, they are very talented hams, lol. They have a boundless energy that is contagious. Every week, even though they're exhausted from a full day of school, they race into class raring to go! I look forward to seeing them every week to see what fantastic ideas they'll come up with next!" - Miss Jillian
"Talk about CREATIVE! Our students at Genet Elementary are the most creative and quirky cast of characters I teach. From 'Skinny-Jean John' to 'Arnold Schwarzenegger" - we never know who is going to walk through the door! Their energy and enthusiasm never falters, and they never fail to make me LOL." - Miss Kristyn In-Class PhotosWatch & share our #FILMFRIDAY VIDEO!
Each week we will be choosing one of our dramatic classes to highlight for our #ClassoftheWeek! This week we have chosen our Loudonville Senior Acting Academy! "Some people have to wait their entire lives to meet their favorite performers – I raised mine!" - Drama Mama "The Loudonville Senior Acting Academy is everything you could ask for and more in a Drama Kids Class. They have unbridled enthusiasm for learning and a general exuberance for life that is contagious. Even though at times they definitely push the envelope on age appropriateness (lol!) they also push each other to be the best they can be. They have found in each other kindred spirits, and it's that cohesiveness that makes this class such a success. I am honored to be able to teach them every week, and learn from them as well." - Miss Jillian "Our Loudonville Sr. Acting Academy holds a very special place in my heart. Many of them have been a Drama Kid for 6, 7, 8…even 11 years! Yes, they were my babies before I had babies! They embody what I love most about being a Drama Kids teacher and Director. I am blessed to have witnessed these exuberant, fun-loving little kids, grow and mature into the most creative and talented performers (and teachers!) I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They are true examples of the power of Drama Kids and I am so proud to have been their “Drama Mama” these past 11 years. Some people have to wait their entire lives to meet their favorite performers – I raised mine!" - Drama Mama In-Class Photos#FIlmFriday Video! Each week we will be choosing one of our dramatic classes to highlight for our #ClassoftheWeek! They each have a personality of their own and always puts a smile on my face. I can't wait to do all the fun things planned for the rest of the year with them! This week we have chosen our Tuesday Clifton Park Senior Acting Academy! "Whenever I teach this class, it amazes me how well they work together and support each other!" - Miss Destiny "If I had to pick one word to describe this class, it would be family. They are such a talented, tight knit group. Being a Senior Acting Academy class, they have formed a bond with each other that, over the years, has created a safe place for them to explore their talents. This safety net has allowed them all to flourish as actors. I am so proud of all they've accomplished thus far, and I can't wait to see all that they create this year!" - Miss Jillian Class photo galleryEach week we will be choosing one of our dramatic classes to highlight for our #ClassoftheWeek! This week we have chosen our Guilderland Jr. Acting Academy! "I love this junior acting academy! I can't wait to see them each week - they always have me laughing and smiling." - Ryan Woods, Teaching Assistant "Inspirational class alert! This group of kids have shown Kristyn and I what it means to come together to create some amazing improvisations. We have a great group of kids that have just started working together, and in a short time they have become an ensemble and completely support one another. This class is sure to have some great moments that Kristyn, Ryan, Samijo and I will be able to brag to everyone about! Can't wait to see where this class leads us this year!" - Miss Kathryn "We never know what to expect with our Junior Acting Academies at the start of each Drama Kids year. As many of you know - middle schoolers are a species all in their own! However, our Guilderland Jr. Acting Academy students continue to knock our socks off with their instinct and maturity! Improv can be very hard to tackle for some adults - but these tweens are fearless! They are never timid to raise their hand to volunteer for a scene or admit when they've broken a rule of improv. Their thirst for learning and performing is contagious, and I look forward to seeing them in action at our Live Improv Night in November!" - Miss Kristyn IN-Class Photo Gallery! On our first day of class we asked our students, "What is the most FUN thing about Drama Kids?" All I know is, these guys definitely keep me on my toes!" - Miss Jillian "Our Loudonville 5-8 year olds keep me young! Their energy is palpable, their laughter contagious and their bright ideas light up the room! Who would have ever thought that aliens puke “sparkles” when they are sick?! Each week we will be choosing one of our dramatic classes to highlight for our #ClassoftheWeek! This week we have chosen our brand NEW Delmar Senior Acting Academy, as well as our Delmar Junior Acting Academy! "Our Delmar class is a shining example of an ensemble. They work together, and because of that, they bring out the best in each other!" - Miss Jillian "They have grown and matured together as a group, and they are always there to help each other and have each other's backs!" - Miss Destiny So why have we decided to choose our Delmar Acting Academy as our very first #ClassoftheWeek? Well... they are the perfect example of our Drama Kid's #FUNdamentals! "I was SO nervous to teach on my first day of Drama Kids back in 2012. Delmar was the very first class of the year, and the butterflies were almost unbearable. I couldn't shake my anxious thoughts of, "Will the kids like me?" "What if they miss their old teacher?" "What if I mess up?" What if, what if, what if... I successfully navigated my first two classes - a fun and energy packed Lower Primary class, and a wonderful group of Upper Primary students (Many of whom are now in the Acting Academy!) However, as the newest batch of teen and tween Acting Academy students started to arrive my confidence began to plummet. This was the class I was the most worried about! It's easy to win over the little ones - but as many of you know - tweens and teens are a whole different breed! As I was busy trying to stop my anxieties from bubbling over, Deanna began to introduce Destiny and I to the class - and that's when something amazing happened! The class initiated a huge group hug with us! I have not since experienced, nor can I fathom, a warmer welcome then the one I received that night. From then on out our Delmar Acting Academy has always been the prime example of what it means to be a true ensemble. Their teamwork, dedication, and support for one another knows no bounds. Each Friday, after a long week of teaching, I leave Delmar feeling inspired and excited to see what the next week has in store. Delmar... you ROCK!" -Miss Kristyn On our first day of class, we asked our students what they think is the most FUN thing about Drama Kids. From "meeting new people" to "expressing myself", our Delmar Acting Academy students all had some very inspirational things to share! Check out more of their answers in our gallery below!
