This is going to be our most inspiring round of films yet!Last year we had a blast spoofing movies, musical, and "adulting"! Our 2016/17 films captured the heart of our #FUNdamentals project - and now we are setting our sights on our #INSPIRING our audiences even further! So, what movies are our Drama Kids making THIS year? LOWER PRIMARY "To be, or not to be, that is the question!" "Double, double, toil and trouble..." "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" Do these lines sound familiar? Well then, you've probably read you fair share of Shakespeare! Many of us remember reading Hamlet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream or Romeo and Juliet back in high school. But we here at Drama Kids think our students should be exposed to the Bard way before that! After all, you can't get more dramatic than Shakespeare! Now, before you ask, "How on EARTH are kindergarteners going to remember all of those lines - let alone understand them!?" know that we will simply be pulling some inspiration from the classics! While we will be challenging our kiddos by giving them some of Shakespeare's original prose, we will also be modernizing these stories and making the situations much more kid-friendly! For example, our 'Romeo and Juliet' will be falling on love on the playground, not Verona! And it's not the throne that our 'Macbeth' will be after... it's an A plus on his test! Watch our Lower Primary kiddos tackle the Bard in their starring role in: "SHAKESPEARE! (Kind of...) "A Drama Kids Original Picture! UPPER PRIMARY While our Lower Primary is pulling inspiration for their movies, our Upper Primary is hoping to INSPIRE the audience with theirs! Well, the audience, and some of the most evil super-villains the world has every known! Our mockumentaries will take place at Radioactive Acres Rehabilitation Facility - a treatment center with a mission to #INSPIRE villains to change their ways. Some of our young actors will be playing super-villains, other will play Doctors, and the rest will be portraying a variety of crazy characters that try to #INSPIRE some good in the villains! Will the villains be cured of their villainous tendencies, or are they really even that "evil" after-all? Find out when our Upper Primary students star in their hilarious Super Villain Mockumentaries! ACTING ACADEMY With the Lower Primary performing Shakespeare for their Project Silver Screen movies, I bet you're dying to know what our Acting Academy students will be doing! Well... you'll be surprised to hear that we are pulling inspiration from Fairy Tales for their films! I know what you're thinking... why aren't those two movies switched? Well, we decided that after facing SO many "acting fears" this year, our teens and tweens needed a break to just let loose and be SILLY! That's why they will be putting their own twist on classic Fairy Tales. Oh yes, these stories may seem familiar at first, but be alert! Our students will be making some serious changes to these classics! Find out more in January when our Acting Academy students take us on a journey through their Twisted Fairytales!
